Brickit Privacy Policy

Purpose

This Privacy Policy explains what information about users of Brickit mobile application (hereinafter – “You”) is collected by Brickit Inc. (hereinafter – “We”), how this is done, and what it is used for.

By using the Brickit mobile application (“Application”), You understand and agree to the terms contained in this Privacy Policy and that We may amend it from time to time.

We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Our Service is directed to children under the age of 13, including children aged 4 and above, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent.

Information Collection and Use

We collect limited personal information from You, such as device information and usage data, only to the extent necessary for the operation of our Service. You have the option to create anonymous accounts to access certain features of the Application.

By using the Application, you acknowledge and give your consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of information in compliance with COPPA requirements. Your use of the Application constitutes parental consent for the collection of any personal information and affirms that you have reviewed and understood our data practices, with clear notice.

Types of information collected

We collect personal information when You provide it to Us and when You use the Application, including information related to Your activity while using the Application.

  • Account information. When You create an account in the Application, We collect information such as Your name, email address, provided that no personal information is requested as mandatory in order to be able to use the Application.
  • Social media information. If You choose to login to the Application via a third party platform or social media network (for example, Facebook), or otherwise connect Your account on the third party platform or network to the Application, We may collect information from that platform or network, such as, your mailing address, email, or phone number.
  • Contact information. We collect personal information from You such as name and email address when You contact Us via the contact form, register for Our newsletter, request customer or technical support, or otherwise communicate with Us.
  • Photographs and bricks sets information. We also collect photographs You provide to the Application while using, via Your camera or camera roll (if You have granted Us permission to access Your camera or camera roll) and information about Your bricks sets You provide within the Application. We do not collect any sensitive personal data (such as racial origins, political opinions, health or biometric data, religious, or philosophical beliefs).

Please ensure not to submit to Us any sensitive personal information or additional details that are not required for the use of the Application.

Certain information is collected automatically when you use or visit the Application. This information does not reveal your identity (such as your name or contact information), but may include information about your device, its use, and other technical information. This information helps us maintain security, ensure optimization of the Application for your needs, and facilitate customer support.

The tracking technologies we use to collect this information include cookies, web beacons, flash cookies, embedded scripts, location-identifying technologies, pixels, and other similar technologies.

The tracking technologies automatically collect the following categories of data:

  • Browser data: information that your browser automatically sends when you use the Application, including IP address, browser type, browser language, settings, and Application usage patterns.
  • Device data: information about the device you use, such as device type, model and manufacturer, device operating system brand and model, device hard disk drive, operating system version, and information regarding the location of your device.
  • Usage data: information about your use of the Application, including patterns, time, and date of your use of the Application.
  • Analytics data: general information about traffic and usage trends for the Application.

We may also use third-party service providers to collect and process analytics and other information on the Application. These third-party service providers may use cookies, pixel tags, web beacons, or other storage technology to collect and store analytics and other information. They have their own privacy policies addressing how they use the analytics and other information and We do not have access to, nor control over, third parties’ use of cookies or other tracking technologies.

How we use your information

We do not use the photographs You provide when You use the Application for any reason other than to provide You with the functionality of the Application. We may use information other than photographs to operate and improve the Application:

  • Enable You to use the Application’s features;
  • Establish and maintain Your account, if You choose to login to the Application using Your social media account;
  • Communicate with You about the Application, including by sending You announcements, updates, and security alerts, which We may send through a push notification, and responding to Your requests, questions and feedback;
  • Provide technical support and maintenance for the Application;
  • Perform statistical analysis about use of the Application (including through the use of third parties statistic services).

We may also use Your information to send You marketing and promotional communications as permitted by law. You have the ability to opt-out of Our marketing and promotional communications. We do not engage in targeted advertising directed at children under 13 or behavioral advertising based on the child’s online behavior or preferences.

Share and disclosure of information

We reserve the right to access, use, preserve, transfer or disclose, at any time without notice to You, any information (including personal information) as reasonably necessary to comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas or requests from government authorities.

If You have enabled features or functionality that connect the Application to a third-party platform or social media network (such as by logging into the Application using Your account in the third party platform or social media network), such third party platforms’ use of Your personal information in this case is governed by that third party’s privacy policy and terms and conditions.

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of Your mobile device.

Please note that You may at any time exercise Your rights of access, rectification, erasure, opposition, restriction of processing and portability with respect to Your personal data by writing to Our email address team@brickit.app.

As part of our commitment to comply with the COPPA, parents have the right at any time to review their child's personal information, request corrections, direct us to delete it, and refuse further collection or use of their child's information. To exercise these rights or for any inquiries regarding our privacy practices as they relate to children's data, please reach out to us at team@brickit.app. We ensure a seamless process for parents to manage their child's personal information in line with COPPA guidelines.

You may revoke any permissions You previously granted to Us, such as permission to access Your camera, camera roll, or microphone through the settings on Your mobile device.

You have the right to have Your Personal Data deleted or otherwise removed. You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information, subject to exceptions set forth by the law (such as, including but not limited to, where the information is used to identify and repair errors in this app, to detect security incidents and protect against fraudulent or illegal activities, to exercise certain rights etc.).

If no legal exception applies, as a result of exercising your right, we will delete your personal information.

To exercise the right described above, you need to access the “Account” section of the Application, tap the last button named “Delete account” and confirm deletion.

How and when we are expected to handle your request. The deletion process is expected to complete automatically within 1 day after initiated.

Security Measures

Information security is important to Us and We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of Your information. We implement reasonable security measures to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the personal information collected from users. These measures include encryption, access controls, and regular security audits. We have established physical, electronic, managerial and procedural safeguards to protect the information We collect, process and maintain.

Changes to the privacy policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If We make material changes to this Privacy Policy, We will notify You by updating the date of this Privacy Policy and posting it on the Application.

Any modifications to this Privacy Policy will be effective upon Our posting the new terms and/or upon implementation of the new changes on the Application. In all cases, Your continued use of the Application after the posting of any modified Privacy Policy indicates Your acceptance of the terms of the modified Privacy Policy.
